Dr. Mindy I purchased the Bioptimizers magnesium you recommended and that pretty much solved my constipation issues. Plus I increased my Plant based fiber more. Brussel Sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, collards, Swiss Chard, cauliflower, etc. Increased water, and increased my walking up to 15, 000 steps each day. I make sure every evening I have a 16 oz cup tea before I go to sleep. I eat Greek Yogurt and berries for dessert. I eliminated rice, pasta, bread, oats, potatoes, corn, fast food, sugar, desserts, chips, etc. .. I eat apples but small and in moderation. Focus on berries. No bananas, pineapple, etc... I fast 18/6. I record my Poops so if I do not have one first am I increase my water and walk until I have a bowel movement. I got a CGM and do not mind paying for it to learn which foods are impacting my body. I do not have diabetes but I am 20 pounds overweight and therefore some level of insulin resistance. Trying to make sure I keep the insulin readings below 99. Thank you for your recommendations. Yvonne

You can go every day and still be constipated..it is all about transit time..I was going once sometimes 2x a day and corn still took 36-40 hours to pass and I was bloated and fatigued..not good!! Also if transit time is slow and you are backed, up fiber can often makes things worse. Love your videos and your energy!!

I have spent my whole life pooping once a week. My earliest memories are of being given enemas as a little girl. Doing IF for about 7 weeks and pooping 3-5 times a week. Miracle! Thank you for talking about the difficult stuff!

Fibre - yes, but from food. Many of my clients have thrown a fibre supplement at their constipation which just creates bulk and makes it worse. I get them off it and address diet first (including fibre from vegetables, moderate fruit, and removing the refined junk, grains.) If the gut needs to heal and repair (or SIBO) I may recommend carnivore for a period/removing the fibre. Take away - please, anyone suffering, don’t just throw a supplement at the problem 🙏

Thank you Dr Pelz. Had lots of Mucus today so clearly an infection. 🤭 Just started drinking salt water every morning, and it’s really been helping me go daily, coz I’ve suffered with constipation for most of my life (over 50 years), so I’m definitely gonna try implementing regular 24hr fasts.

Its not just fibre but the kind of fibre. Each of us have a different requirement. Some fruits and veggies work well for one individual but same thing may not work for another person. Keeping a food journal helps. Kale does not work for me but works wonders for my friend. So figure out what works for your body and this may take time and you need to be patient.

I am IF 16/8 but new to the 24hour fast. After the 24hr fast, there was a significant improvement in my bowel movement after being badly constipated the week before. I am learning a lot from your channel, thank you.

I have had lots of mucus and have had for years. I've told my Dr and never has he said anything about infection. Why am I surprised.

So I did the 36 hr fast with 12 hr eating window for a few days in a row. Yesterday I had clear mucus in my stool. If this indicates an infection, what should I do? Can I continue doing the fast for 30 days as planned? Do I need a test of some sort, etc? Thank u!

Toxic chemicals....in 80% of our foods anymore. I get angry reading labels at the stores lol. Mainly eat carnivore, no veggies. No constipation.

Dr. Mindy changed my life! I have lost almost 30 pounds due to IF since January. I have never felt so healthy or happy. I have renewed energy and great poops 😊
I’m 44 and understand my hormones in a way I wish I would have 30 years ago. I also relayed all her information to my 77 year old father who is pre diabetic. He lost 10 pounds and is almost ready to get off his meds. I wish I could give Dr. mindy and huge hug for what she’s done for my life ❤

Thank you Dr Mindy this is the exact video I needed!! I just started taking magnesium too so hopefully that helps as well. I find that when I eat fiber, it doesn’t help, it just makes me more backed up

After a 19 hour and then a 24 hour fast I have had 2 bowel movements and they smell "chemically" should I be concerned or is this just a purge of bad stuff in my gut.

Since I went ketovore my fiber intake has decreased drastically. I have a bowel movement every 3 days on average, but NEVER ANYMORE do I feel constpated or uncorfortable in any way. It takes a few seconds only, no sound no smell, no one notices. I never knew in 40 years it could be this way.

I remember years ago Oprah with dr oz talked about this and a healthy poop as a circle or a stream line. It’s a very good conversation to have and uncomfortable for some butt So Important! No pun intended. I eat a lot of cabbage, cauliflower and vegetables and fruit but your telling me my farts or my poop shouldn’t stink? What’s a healthy poop? Talk about this more please.
