COMPARING 3 POINT QUICK HITCHES! 2020 VERSION 😎👨‍🌾🚜👩‍🌾

Let's compare quick hitches! You'll see 6 different quick hitches in this video. The Speeco, John Deere iMatch, Land Pride, Tar River, Nortec, and Worksaver quick hitches. These are all built to the same ASAE specification and will have the same general dimensions. Weights will vary, some features will vary. In my opinion, the Speeco represents the best value due to not requiring bushings.

However, don't take my word for it. Check out the video, make your own assessment, and then get a hold of me to place an order! :) Just let me know if there's any other questions I can answer for you and have a great day!

Speeco Dimensions:

Inside to Inside of Lower Links: 27.25"
Outside to Outside of Lower Links: 29.50"
Lots of adjustability between lower links and top links to fit a wide variation of attachments.

Just received my Speeco Quick Hitch. Painted it JD green to match my new 4044R - looks awesome! I've owned tractors for 25 years and can't tell you how many times I have had to leave the operator's seat and readjust the linkage. And along with that, many bumps, bruises and scrapes. This now takes less than a minute - tip: I can't see the lower links from my cab, so I just make sure I line up the center links on both the hitch and rake and back-up until the lower links have connected to the up the hitch, throw the two handles and it is ready to work! Great work Courtney - thanks!

Thanks for all of the info for us new tractor owners. I ordered the SpeeCo hitch from you and it’s coming in tomorrow. Thanks again

My thoughts on the lower bushings are just for additional adaptation to implement hitches that are not exact cat 1 width dimensions or pin size. Whether it be internal or external lower pin mounts. And with the shoulder no need to worry about snagging the lynchpin when hooking up. Also it’s easier to bush up than change pins to get to correct size.

Great information. Cost was the factor on my purchase. Harbor Freight... LoL ... had it for 8 years and still working good.

I use my quick hitch on all my equipment without them bushings. Works just fine of them 7/8 pins that are on the equipment. Saves money and easier if a neighbor needs to borrow a piece of equipment and doesn't have a quick hitch.

@Good Works Tractors

The bushings are there for some older hay equipment that use the 3-point hitch as a two point hitch system. In my opinion, it would be cheaper and more efficient to change the pins on that equipment than to buy bushings for everything else. It's also unlikely that sub-compact tractors will be using said equipment. On top of that, I'm not sure any of that stuff would actually be usable with a quick hitch in the first place. I would assume that most of the quick hitches are made the way they are, because they copied John Deere. John Deere most likely did that because they wanted that backwards compatibility.

Get one of those bushings. Cut it in half. Weld half in each hook. Then use any of them without bushings on attachments.

Thank you for your review! I would add a very important point. One of the most important thing when choosing a quick hitch is to consider wich one has the shorter distance between the lower hook and 3 point tractor side pin hole. The shorter is the distance, the better it is to keep your accesories neer your tractor. You don't want any unecessary inches between the tractor and your accessories. I think that having larger hook diameter give you the chance to install bigger tool and also beign able to install the Cat. 1 tools ? Very good review, lot of information ! Thanks !

I decided to get those because I don't need the bushings. Thanks Courtney for the direction and the great educational videos! They are why I bought both forks and the quick hitch from you. You make me feel confident in what I am buying.

Great review. Speeco is the one. No bushings required for all Cat 1 attachments.

Great video !
I learned a lot, measurements also very helpful . Plan on getting a quick hitch and just started to research, but I was think why couldn't one just add a sleeve / bushing / piece of black pipe to the existing pin and tack weld to hold into place . Speeco does look like the way to go though .

This is a great video, but you also need the inside/outside wall dimensions of the quick hitch frame because when you have an attachment like a box blade, that wall needs to fit inside of that pin area just like the hooks. I purchased a quick hitch based on the inside/outside hook widths and then got it home only to realize the hooks fit fine but the outside wall dimensions were too wide for my "quick hitch compatible" box blade.

Cat 1 to Cat 3 on Quick Hitch
My theory on why the different sizes using the bushing is to #1, sell more parts, #2 is that in using the quick hitch over a period of time, the bushing becomes slightly burred. On the hitch that is of no concern. But if it was on the Cat 1 pin itself, you might have trouble putting the pin in the receiver ball socket if that was ever desired.

Instead of buying bushings that were in short supply locally, I bought new pins. And it turned out the pins were cheaper than the bushings.

Have you tried the Jiffy Hitch? I went with it about twenty years ago and I'm well pleased with it.
