Surly Nate vs Surly Edna │ Surly Fat Bike Tire Showdown

A Surly Fat Tire Showdown! I rode my Surly Wednesday on back-to-back loops and put both the Surly Edna and Surly Nate fat tires to the test. My loop consisted of four segments: 1) a Flat Towpath, 2) a Gravel Climb, 3) a Paved Road, and 4) a Gravel Descent. I breakdown the times, how they each felt, and provide my review of each tire. Which is better on technical terrain? On the flats? On climbs? Watch and find out!

Regardless of which tire you're running, Enjoy Your Ride!

Nice overview, and thanks for the shout out! I think I had a much bigger gap in my change to the Edna’s because I had the OG Nate’s on my Pugs (4”, 27tpi, wire bead). Those 3.8” Nates are 60tpi and I’m sure much lighter and higher quality. I do love the Edna’s though so far, still need to snow test them, but the larger size should yield a bigger traction patch. The weight and rolling resistance is great considering they are a larger size. Keep ‘em coming!

Great clip thanks for sharing!I Have you tried lower PSI for trail?
I currently own a few fat bikes 4.0 -4.8 & 10psi is a good road psi, though for trail my Ednas are 6-7psi max. For the 4.8’s 5-6psi offers the best ride....then again i’m not breaking any records, but the grip & control on the single track is amazing, & a great workout to boot. In snow with 4.8 Surly Bud/Lou, or Bud/Bud 3-4psi hits the mark.
Keep up the great work, I really enjoyed the breakdown of all the data.👍🏻
