On the force for 25 years, Zeolla was promoted just last year to sergeant, which may come as a surprise when you learn that no officer on the force today has received more complaints from citizens than him: 93 and counting.

Scrutinizing, they should have been fired him. This is the problem with the police department and police unions.

Man, as a security guard, if I trigger one lawsuit, I’m done and most likely liable.

Why are the standards lower for actual police officers?

Sadly, he's considered an ideal officer The only thing surprising is he's not the chief FTP

This guy should not be working anywhere that he deals with the public

This is insane!! People need to speak and demand action before the unspeakable happens to them or their love ones.

Cops always say, "well it's my job to give people tickets, it's my job to find drugs." The reality is that it's your job to do your job professionally and within the lines of the law. Sounds pretty simple to me.

This outrageous behavior continues, and it makes me SO angry. How many more years do citizens have to tolerate this abuse?
Just think of all the people he abused that DIDN'T file complaints for fear of retaliation.
At least one officer did the right thing, by coming forward and telling the truth, but who knows what has happened to him for being an honest man.

very good story. Hold them accountable.

This is the epitome of the disconnect between law enforcement & civilians: Sure, we file complaints in an effort to get accountability for bad policing, but it's the police that investigate those complaints, and so there's no accountability to be had so long as that's how investigations are done.
These situations are precisely why we need 3rd party/civilian, independent oversight of how complaints are investigated and handled.

After the first complaint or maybe two complaints, it should've been looked into. So, it took 93 complaints and counting for this issue to now be a concern? Bull crap

Complaints need to be filed at the public defenders office! If you go to a police station to file you are threatened and intimidated for reporting bad cops! And other cops allow it and take part in it! And cops show everyday why they should not have immunity!

End qualifies immunity and make cops carry their own liability insurance just like every other profession

We need to be aware that this department and city didn’t do anything about this MOUNTAIN of misconduct until public pressure was applied. They are also complicit

Complaints are a “badge of honor” among the rank and file. And their supervisors. This is the blue line and it’s real.

Why haven't these officers been reported to the FBI in accordance with the Brady Act? The DPD is in violation of federal law and the mayor, city council and DPD chief should all be prosecuted for violation.

And they didn't do anything the 92 complaints and 11 lawsuits before that?
That's not even Criminal Negligence anymore... that's Conspiracy. And every single officer, supervisor and chief involved should go to prison for a VERY long time.
