This duckling almost got separated from its family 🥹❤️ #shorts

This mama duck and her ducklings were getting a bit too close to the edge of the water, obviously a bit curious what was on the other side. As the mama pushed herself away to safety, one of her babies ended up getting taken by the water and falling over the edge.

Thankfully, this was only a few feet high, so even though the duckling was totally fine, it was now separated from the group and had no way of getting back up.

The mom immediately recognized this and can be seen trying to figure out what to do next. After a few moments of thinking, the mom ended up jumping over the edge to try and rescue her baby, which triggered ALL of the ducklings to go for it and jump as well.

Thankfully they all made it down just fine, and even though this was definitely a bit chaotic, they all ended up completely un-harmed and back together as a family 😂❤️

I love how the babies all followed their mother without hesitation, they have such an undying instinctual trust and loyalty to their mom, even if they aren’t sure what was going to happen to them. I think that’s one of the most beautiful moments in nature I’ve seen

It's marvelous how they don't want any member to be left out so they'd rather be in trouble than leave out a baby duck all by themselves. What's also amazing is the trust the baby ducklings have in their mother to follow her everywhere

I love that the moment the mother duck saw one of her babies disappear out of view, she immediately reacted and looked over to where her baby had disappeared over the edge. And the fact she wasn’t afraid to go after her little one, even if it was the only one she lost down there, she refused to leave any of her babies behind
