Of course we're for the status quo because the status quo is Taiwan's obviously a country, but everyone's winking so as to not piss off China.

How many times? How many times is it that they have had to walk back what he says on the VERY few occasions he is allowed near a microphone and a camera? Imagine if this was the other side? No way in a MILLION YEARS is he in charge. Not a chance. Plain as day.

CCP - Hey Biden, remember the millions we gave your son? We don't pass out money as charity and expect something in return.

Biden's staff had to remind him that he's "The Big Guy."

Feigned or real, deliberate or accidental, confused ambiguity as demonstrated by the president and his staff may be an effective way to keep China unsure of what the United States' response would be to an invasion of Taiwan or whatever the current diplomatic name for the island is...I think different countries call it different names.

Honestly why agree to a one china policy? It’s stupid because then china take Taiwan without issues. The USA idea to give sensible equipment to Taiwan isn’t enough. If china invades Taiwan then so much for free trade in that area of the world. This is stupid

I'm not a fan of Biden but defending Taiwan is a smart move when most of the USA's semiconductors come from there. By comparison the USA put pressure on its allies to sanction both China and Russia from having access to semiconductors and since then Russia's military forces have been steadily tanking.

It makes sense why you'd defend that island from a purely military standpoint as the island itself safeguards an important strategic resource you do not want to lose control of.

Thus I'm still very much in favour of the Republicans but I'll give Biden credit that in this instance he's doing the right thing. Until the USA can independently produce more semiconductors to sustain itself you lot need to be protecting Taiwan so your own military doesn't lose its edge. I applaud whichever military strategist suggested to Biden that this would be a good idea.
