What Tornado is the Biggest? It`s Bigger Than 4 000 m in Diameter!

The sad statistic says that USA sees the most tornadoes of any country in the world each year. But it's not the location of the most powerful tornado in history. The biggest tornado was not even on the Earth.

This graphic is rather misleading. The problem is that it seemingly illustrates the size of the tornadoes by their "height". Tornadoes (at least I believe) all have similar heights - they end some ways up into the storm cloud from which they emerge. The relevant factor is the _width_ or _girth_ of the tornado vortex. The tornadoes toward the end are not very _tall_ but rather very _fat_ - so-called "wedge tornadoes" (Also the tornado size may only imperfectly correlate with wind speed and thus damaging power: there are wide tornadoes that have had less wind speed than smaller and more compact ones.).

I had an ef2 tornado in my block, but luckily it didn’t do as bad. A large tree was uprooted and there was debris everywhere

I’ve never seen a tornado before but I’ve seen a hurricane and winds up to 45 mph and it did not do anything but some states they have really bad hurricanes that they do lots of damage but thanks for the tornado comparison😊

I was in OKC ok, on the western edge next to Yukon, Oklahoma on may 31st That really was scary as hell.... A mere 5 to 10 miles from the biggest baddest beast of a tornado ever formed .... It really was a magnificent sight
