At 66 years old, I have listened to a lot of music but this band has wowed me ! They are as good as any other band that that’s out there in the world . First time hearing them and they blew me away ! but I noticed more old bands
that we never heard of until now
here and I always like looking up info on them
to see what happened to them etc.
a lot of these groups may have put out only
one lp or two,
others may have put out more
but the music industry back then had
so many bands popping up every month....
today you don't get that because
Rock n Roll has gotten covered up by the
so called music stars of today....

O Cargo foi formado em Amsterdam no ano de 1970, no começo o nome da banda era “September”.

Todos os integrantes da banda já tinham bastante bagagem no cenário musical da cidade tocando com bandas de garagem rock e psicodélico.

A banda passou por varias mudanças na formação e vendo que os trabalhos anteriores não estavam dando o resultado desejado, decidiram mudar o direcionamento musical assim como o nome da banda, passando a se chamar Cargo.

Como todas essas bandas de um só disco são fantásticas o Cargo não poderia ficar de fora, o som é um hard rock cativante, repleto de melodias e longas passagens instrumentais, com destaque para as guitarras gêmeas dos irmãos Ad e Jan de Hont.

Tiveram grande influencia de gigantes como Wishbone Ash, Ten Years After e Uriah Heep.

O som da banda foi bem aceito pelo publico, porem vendas foram fracas, o que provavelmente motivou o fim do grupo um pouco após o lançamento do álbum auto intitulado.
