Backup and restore Windows with Macrium Reflect

If you’ve just installed fresh Windows, or going to upgrade your system, it could be a good idea to backup it in case something wrong happens, you still have a backup which can be used to restore your system within a few clicks. Macrium Reflect is a disk cloning and imaging software that I will use to backup and restore my system.

In this video, I will show how to backup Windows system to an image file and how to restore system from an image file. I divide into 3 parts as following:
1. Download, Install Macrium Reflect Free, and create a recovery drive (0:39)
2. Backup Windows system to an image file (04:22)
3. Restore Windows from an image file (06:23)

I have been using it for a few months, I really like it and I managed to use it on more than 10 laptops. Rarely it has problems.

If its unable to restore, just make sure your USB connection etc are plugged properly and restore again.

Please just use this.

My only comment is that people have asked genuine questions, that need answers and there are very few replies from the author.
Pity... When people make a video or any online product, it is imperative that they service that data and comments, especially when they ask for questions and comments...

I do not get the pictures portrayed in this video. When I install Macrium Reflect Free 7.2 in my Windows 10 system, the program does *NOT* let me choose the partition where system is placed (C:) because it appears greyed out. Therefore the program is completely useless, unless there's a hidden option somewhere or I should use a commercial version. The free one didn't work for me.

Please answer Steven Brener's question of a month ago, as I need to know as well. Which file do I select to restore forma differential backup disk. I have 4 files. Do I select the larg first one or the last one? If the first one, doed the system automatically go on to the others or do I have to repeat the back up for each file individually.

Are the 3 parts optional or you have to do them all?! sounds like to me you can do the 1st part or the last and one contradicts the other, confusing.... I made the recover media on a flash stick and made the backup on my hhd so now what? the black text bubble on the last part made it confusing... All I want to do is make a recover image of my pc as is and keep it on a flash stick for later with all the drivers and updates I got on it now.

Nowadays automatic seamless backup on daily or weekly basis is taken in an external hard drive or cloud storage in OneDrive. This type of backup is now back dated.
