Denmark has never been a net importer of food. Denmark was built on farming and agriculture exports were also the foundation of industrialization. Meaning that the majority of Industries were founded to serve agricultural production or used the byproducts from farming to produce goods.

Denmark salary is 3 times bigger than here in Spain (1500 €/month on average). Even though I was an IT Systems & Networks administrator, I've been unemployed 16 years because I lost my job just before the Global Financial Crisis (2008-2015) and then later ageism in enterprises which don't hire people over 40. No welfare because I have savings at the bank and I'm not supposed to qualify. State doesn't care I didn't have any income since 2007. Today news said that 130, 000 jobs were created in 2023... but there are still 2.8 million unemployed people here. I've done many training courses, but academies just fetch that money from the EU funds and then enterprises don't accept those certificates at all. Society blocks you, no way to escape.
