Springtime Picking Boats by the Side of the Road - Is This 24' Grady White Really Under $7K????

We are back in our home roads of the North Fork of Long Island and on the hunt again for used boats for sale. Let's see what we found on this cold blustery April day.

As I mention at the end of this video, I would probably go with an allegedly running and driving 24' Grady White (with working electronics). Which would you pick and why?

I took out my 29 year old Grady White Adventure today. Went out Clearwater Pass Florida and headed up the coast about 20 miles to Anclote key and back. The boat is powered with a 1994 200hp Saltwater Series Yamaha. The rig runs like new and practically looks new.

1984 Grady White for sure

We had a 1973 Grady White 21' Chesapeake Cuddy Cabin from 1973 to 2016. The hull lasts many decades no issues. Tow with a 2005 Chevy Tahoe LS Vortec 5.3v8 with trailer towing package and 4x4

I used to have an Offshore 24 with an outboard on a bracket. Great riding boat and topped out around 43mph with a 200hp.

Of all of those boats the Grady is best buy, by a long shot. I used to do I/O work on the side and once i learned how to maintain them, they are really cheap and easy boats to work on. I wouldn't want to get into an I/O if I didn't have that experience though. I would be more concerned about rotten wood than the engine, but if you had a good hull and suck 2k into making sure the engine was running right and had new cooling components, you would have a very solid 30+ mile offshore boat

My first boat was an IO, never again. Audio is great, could do with fewer commercials, love these road trips. Thanks.

We paid $700 for our 85’ 24 offshore pro but without a motor, a rotted floor and stringers! Lol. We’ve spent a little more than $6300 to rebuild her. If that floor and transom are solid and the motor runs that’s a great deal! Nice hardtop too!

Thank you for sharing your video friend. I am a big enthusiast of boats and fishing. I really enjoy seeing how these boats remain solid despite the years. I am a big fan of Wrady and Boston Whalers👍✌️

Saw couple aluminum boats for sale. One east of Laurel post office, in front of nursery. Another in Jamesport, east of traffic light. Both on north side of main rd.

These grady 24 offshore io's are great candidates for a bracket with twins restoration

The Grady white looks like it has a omc cobra outdrive nightmare to get parts for if you could find them another one is Volvo outdrives are another very expensive out drive to own you cannot beat good old Mercruiser

That GW would sell for at least twice that in the Charleston market! Boats here are expensive!

Didn’t get notified on this video. I would have had that Grady surveyed and if the stringers and out drive were okay, I would have bought it. Probably gone by now. Thanks for doing the videos.

Nice looking boat, as long as the motor is in good shape.
