My mother also went to the Jones-Haywood School of Ballet in Washington D.C. . It is was started in 1941 to tech children of color how to do Ballet. Now it's called the Jones-Haywood School of Dance. My mother wasn't as good as Ms. Rivera and stop dancing by the time she was 13 years old.

She has only won 2 Toni's. Kiss of the Spider Woman and The Rink. She has been nominated 13 times. Maybe 14.
