I asked three British Exmuslims what they thought about the protests and riots. This is what they said.

I am sorry but I come from Pakistan and we are a country based on "two nation theory". We are taught about it in school. It is enshrined in our "resolution of independence". The army chief referenced it in his independence day speech on 14th August, 2024. The two nation theory basically underlines WHY it was necessary for India and Pakistan to become two separate countries after the British left. It basically claims that "Muslims cannot coexist with anyone else because they're JUST SO DIFFERENT in how they live their lives. Their culture, their food, attire, and language simply doesn't make it easy for them to live in the same place as anyone else who doesn't follow the same rules and the same religion. In fact, they're so very different from everyone else that they should live separately, across the international border in a 'Muslim country'. Yes, this is not some white supremacist talking, this is THE TWO NATION THEORY. The same people who believe that Muslims cannot live in a multicultural setting, go overseas and demand that everyone else tolerate them because "multiculturalism is good". The army chief then went on to mention shariah law being our guiding light and quoted a verse about chopping off hands and feet of your enemies. We are also taught in school about "khilafat movement" which was a post WW1 movement by the Muslim politicians who were instrumental in the creation of Pakistan, to support the ottoman empire and make sure it stays in place as a universal "islamic state". The establishment of a universal islamic state that practices shariah law is a very important collective goal for most Pakistani young men. (I don't need to remind you of what the ottoman empire did in Europe. They took their sons as janissaries and daughters as harem slaves. Even Turkish history books don't deny it but are PROUD of it). Just look up surveys of how many college going young men support that cause. Ertugrul Ghazi was a Turkish show about the founder of the ottoman empire, recommended by the prime minister to the public. This is people's favourite politician and he talks about establishing an "islamic state like medina". That's basically his slogan. Pakistan is the second largest Muslim population on earth with 255 million people. You know HOW they succeeded in separating Pakistan without a war in 1947? They started out with "two nation theory", then they said "since Muslims live in these xyz geographical strongholds in a majority, and these areas cannot be represented by a man of any other religion, so Muslims should get a 'right of separate electorate'". They put their own representatives in parliament. From there onwards it was simply a matter of saying "yep, we have a separate land, separate politicians, separate faith and culture. So we might as well have a separate country and since we already agreed that a non-muslim politician cannot represent us so we are going to write in our constitution that the president and prime minister can NEVER be non-muslim." And these are the SAME people who jeered and CELEBRATED when Hamza Yusuf became Scotland's prime minister. They have no sense of fairness or objectivity. They BELIEVE THEY ARE RIGHT AND SHOULD WIN. They can't see beyond the "ummah" even when they're being slapped in the face with each province wanting to get separate from Pakistan, and already having lost the east wing which is now Bangladesh and also the internal shia Sunni fights. They still desperately believe in the ummah and some universal final victory. They believe the apocalypse will prove them right and everyone else will burn in hell. They are suffering from Nietzche's slave morality. They can't have political victory, they're sexually frustrated, they're poor, so they hate everyone who has sex, is from a rich country which has proven that it has a better political system and ideology. They desperately want to bring about the final war and the apocalypse so they can finally have women, political victory and wealth.

Because Pakistan was "made in the name of Islam" or "as a laboratory of Islam", as we are told in our textbooks, the state now censors everything, has the worst women's rights, polio is still rampant, the economy is so bad, family laws are still islamic laws (khullaa, 3 word divorce, men can implement 'law of restitution of conjugal rights' where a wife has to come back to the husband's place immediately if the he demands. Child marriage is rampant. Blasphemy and apostasy are punishable by death. Harassment, extreme gender segregation, and forced Hijab are prevalent and women are still killed for honor and killed on wedding nights for not being virgins. They are unable to understand that they have failed as a state precisely because of their regressive beliefs. They think they can move to prettier climates and somehow guve a second chance to their failed ideology in Europe.

People who are in asylum in western countries because of blasphemy laws or apostasy are in DANGER because terror organisation in Muslim countries can reach out to any young Muslim man living in Europe and motivate him to kill the apostate or alleged blasphemer who said anything against the oppressive government back home.

So you must understand that the British people have a valid point about immigration. I came to England as a dependent. No English exam was taken and I had the right to vote automatically. How is this fair? It can easily lead to cultural tensions and clashes for obvious reasons. This time around so many Muslims didn't vote labour just because of their stance on Palestine... They didn't care what labour can do for the UK or not. And labour actually supports immigration. These are the same people who posted Putin's "thug life" videos when Ukraine was being bombed and who degraded Irani women for burning hijabs. These people are not sincere with British western values of democracy. They openly yearn for khilafah and shariah back in the "golden age of Islam".

You must understand how Muslim strongholds --> two nation theory ----> right of separate electorate ----> separate islamic state that practices shariah law.

Already no go areas exist in Britain and these people run their families like a cult where they won't let them interact with anyone else. They run a parallel legal system in mosques where men can have unregistered nikahs which leave women with no rights. There are doctors in Muslim settlements that sell "virginity certificates" so that UK national Muslim girls can show them to prospective mums-in-law back home and then import their husbands over. Muslim parents protest outside schools and demand that their kids be exempted from sex education classes. If these people grow in significant numbers, eventually politicians will have to pander to their demands and it will all be seen as "democracy' and then it will be too late because children cannot vote, the women are indoctrinated and will vote against their own interests for their husbands approval. Western society will totally change. Don't forget that Medina and Mecca started out as "multi cultural" cities too. Don't fall prey to the paradox of tolerance. These people are not interested in integration. They make sure their kids have arranged marriages to cousins from back home and bring their spouse over. The most common reason for honor killings in the UK is a Muslim girl who wants to marry a non-muslim British man. Cousin marriages in the Pakistani community are a huge burden on the national health system due to all the sick children. The British ex-wife of the "state of Medina" and "Ertugrul" prime minister of people's hearts, Imran khan, recently made a movie called "What's love got to do with it?" GLORIFYING arranged marriage. She had married him at 19 years of age and she is a rich British socialite who has been divorced from him for decades and even she is still brainwashed. She even distanced herself from her brother Zac Goldsmith for running against Sadiq Khan to be mayor of London. Yes British colonialism was bad and brutal but the guy with the bigger stick won and that's it. I am not gonna pretend that Muslim colonialism was any better. In fact it was much worse. In Pakistan minorities are second class citizens and forced conversions are rampant. You cannot even give zakat to non Muslims because then it's "not valid". Recently a biology professor had to make a public apology, and "declare" that he was WRONG in saying that men and women's brains have equal IQ. He had to declare that "women have a lower IQ" because a verse in the Qur'an says that men are better than women. This is the mindset you're "showing humanity" to. I am sorry, but they would kill you and then burn your body and dance over the ashes if they could see your face, sadly. You're a good person but you're playing the devil's advocate here and it's not helpful. I understand you're doing this to give them the benefit of the doubt, and because you simply cannot bear to NOT be FAIR and give credit where credit is due, but trust me these people are terrifying, remorseless, psychopaths. They do public lynchings of non Muslims in their country all the damn time. Look it up. No one can stop them and no one even wants to, deep down. It is seen as "protecting the honor of the prophet" and CELEBRATED. 90% pakistanis hate malala yusufzai for being a whistle blower. They also hate sharmin obaid chinoy, a Pakistani lady who made an oscar winning documentary about vitriolage and hate crimes against women in Pakistan. They hate orphanages because the orphanages "promote promiscuity" because women can just have sex and dump their babies at an orphanage. They hate adoption because it is not supported in islam. They even hate and mock a lady called musarrat misbah who made a rehabilitation institute for victims of vitriolage. They're terrifying misogynists. I know them because they're my people.

Great to hear the perspectives of a few people who are directly impacted, because media coverage isn't always trustworthy and things can often be overblown or misrepresented to attract more clicks and attention.

I feel like for all the left talks about intersectionality we have issues actually engaging intersectionally.
Like Muslims are both a minority in the west but Islam has as many problematic tenants as Christianity that need calling out. I'm a black American. There are a lot of pro black figures who are homophobes or transphobes or antisemites who get a pass in some circles if they way the right things about racism or capitalism. We're seeing right now with the Israel Palestine conflict that on one hand you've got people who feel uncomfortable criticizing Israel because of the history of antisemitism and on the other people turning a blind eye to that sort of thing and being flat out antisemites themselves.

We often have trouble seeing somebody whose part of a spotlighted marginalized community but also speaking up when they're saying or doing things vs other marginalized groups

Thanks for the video AA. I would urge you to look more deeply into the problems associated with Islam in the UK. No one rational is saying the far right is not a problem or that the riots and intimidation towards Muslims and other groups was not horrible. But when you look at the disproportionate numbers from the Muslim community in terms of terrorism, those on the terror watch list and grooming gangs, it's no joke. When you look at problems like the intimidation of schools around issues of so called blasphemy and the demand for prayers, when you understand our parliament broke procedure to take a vote on the war in Gaza due to Islamist death threats at politicians. When you look at the level of support for sharia amongst UK Muslims, or criminalising the LGBT community, the attitudes towards women and Jewish people. This is a hugely layered problem that is barely acknowledged by most of the political class in the country. Of course there are large numbers of UK Muslims who are great people and contribute hugely to the country and the far right should not be allowed to intimidate anyone. However, equating the two as if they represent some kind of comparable threat is not backed up by the available evidence. Anyways, I wish you well.

I agree with Gaia. I am living in Liverpool and it was pretty much anyone who looks foreign was scared. I am mixed Latin decent and it was bad, as so many us don't look european. Liverpool is a very left city and I was grateful, that so many people were here to accept us and protested against those rioters.

i'm neither British nor a Muslim, I'm an Irish lapsed Catholic and that 's fine with everybody around me, but lately I've been feeling scared by the fact that every hotel is full of illegal mostly muslim men. It does scare me. I'm looking at Britain and I'm not surprised that the British people are dissatisfied with the status quo. This notion of policing by consent is a new one to me, who ever heard that a community (a muslim community) can decline policing?? while policing is stepped up several notches for the natives! It's outrageous and very 1984 and the Irish gov employ the same strategies, gaslighting us and talking about hate speech bills. Meanwhile, we are still left with the fear of looking around us and realising that a minority that considers us inferior, morally lacking, deserving fewer freedoms (women) and these mindsets do leak out into the original society. There are investigations into the number of informal sharia councils but they still exist.

I think people are just sick of the general decline in their country

So many thoughts. Lama talking about using slurs - absolutely true.
I'd never use that term, it is the same as the N word, and should provoke the same response (along with other slurs used to dehumanize other groups).

Gaia's suggestions about education are right. We try it, teachers try it too. Unfortunately it gets push back from the right wing because it also necessitates critically examining Britain's past and present and acknowedging how bad things can be.

I am Australian, and even though using the 'P' word for Pakistani people isn't that common in our vernacular, I still understand that it's disrespectful at best, and would never use it. I know I'm not the only one here who is conscious of that.

So yes, the ex-Muslim YouTuber you referred to (sorry, I didn't catch his name) absolutely knows he's being derogatory when he uses it.

aladdin, i always appreciated your content because you cited sources, multiple opinions and gave access to the big picture. but nobody who's not in the topic already can build an unbiased opinion on your recent videos. obviously setting refugee camps on fire is terrible but also obviously islam isn't the only problem with migrants. and many of the patriots see the root of bad behavior in islam and want to avoid political islam but westetn politicians don't address the problem as severly as it is severe, therefore the outburst. i don't want to justify it, but when people feel powerless they start to rebell. i don't think it's rational to say the general sentiment against middle easterners is because of their skin color. the west is overwhelmed with characters they are not used to and doesn't know how to deal with them and many don't see the cultural mess of the east as their problem to solve or even as solvable by them. i'd like you to tear apart the topic more deeply than "the initiator says mean things" like that's the only reason people feel the need to act violent.

I don't think it's fair to say Tommy Robinson was part of a Nazi group - regardless of what we may think of him as a character, it's important to be accurate here. He was part of a primarily white English nationalist group, which had "some" members who were vocally racist, but Tommy himself has always gone on record (to my understanding) opposing racism.

I have a hot take that will have you ignoring me if you let it activate your brain in the wrong directions. I think you should look at the protests in England through the same lens that you look at the BLM protests in America. There is a genuine socioeconomic anthropological conflict that is aggravating different demographics of the population and what is driving people's concerns and actions needs addressed.
