Their mad because they wont let spectators and have japan on lockdown but will allow the Games to happen. Kind of a double standard

The main reason Japanese are so angry about the olympics is because the fact that it is disrupting them in their lives. They created a lane prioritized for only athelete bus use, they increased cost to go to Tokyo, and they made going to Japan so much harder for people who really want to go to Japan. Many argue that they are prioritizing athletes instead of what is best for the country. You can always hosts more olympics but you can't take back another life. Plus olympic athletes are getting covid and having to leave. I feel this is something that has been really controversial in Japan but Im glad that they took the right step of no fans. Goodluck to the olympic athletes.

The protesters aren't just worried about Covid being brought to Japan. They're main concern is the amount of funding it requires at a time where businesses are failing and hospitals are being pressured. It would be a different case if the olympics had brought money to their economy, but it clearly isn't this year.

Didn't expect Japanese to take to the streets and clash with police. Interesting.

It's hella rude to invite yourself to a country that's in a state of emergency and don't want you there.

There's a storm right now in the Philippines and it's direction is towards japan, actually there are 2 storms right now and the other one is kept on growing and i wish that the storm will not hit japan while the Summer Olympics is ongoing.

And this is huge for Japan. Japanese protests tend to be very quiet. This big of a protest is unusual for nowadays.

I like how he responds “can be” cancelled. It’s all a choice by execs who believe it can’t be canceled

The athletes trained hard for this. If no Olympics, they would protest. Someone will protest either way. Best way to protest is don’t watch the games on your media. I’ve been vaccinated for months now. I would play if I was in their shoes.

Jamaican olympic athletes arrived only one day prior to Tokyo olympics opening ceremony, hence they all participated in the event. they didn't stay secluded 14 days for covid-19. Something not adding up.
