Evan Brewer does this all the time, i always wondered: ''How the f*** is he doing that?'', ''Is he double thumbing and adding a pluck to make those triplets...?''
Recently i realized that was with hammer ons. I used to do: ''Hammer on, thumb down and thumb up'' and that pattern definitely doesn't give the triplet feel. Now i know.

Thanks Josh well done,   this sounded great even though I cant seem to get my thumb to double thump.My very first bass back in 1980 was a Peavey Patriot bass, wish I still had it, I didn't know what I had at the time.

problem is when i change from the double thumb to regular slapping technique i have to change the angle of my right hand which slows me down...i must be doing something wrong..

Does the double thumb technique wear down the fingernail on your thumb? That's what is happening to me. Is this normal? Am I doing it wrong? Should I adjust my technique? Should I call my doctor?
