Fifty years on from the Stonewall uprising in New York, London Pride 2019 was just as colourful as ever.

Organisers say up to 1.5 million people took to the streets for the parade, which started at Portland Place.

The parade went across Oxford Circus and down Regent Street before arriving at Whitehall via Trafalgar Square.

One man from Uganda spoke about how getting to this day "meant the world".

Why do you have to turn homosexuality into a naked circus?
and then say its bigotry when people make fun and mock the circus?
If I celebrate my straightness in this way they'd question my mental health.

Cant we all just accept that we love who we want to love and move past homophobia please.

It's ok to be gay but this annual circus is just an embarrassment.

Stop forcing this degeneracy on everyone. Some of us have slightly higher standards.

I’m gay but I don’t like seeing this. Why do you need to be half naked on the street drunk in front of children. We can celebrate by just dressing normal and party.

Is this what my grandfather and his mates went to ww1 and ww2 for?

Gay people have always existed. Just because your fantasy book about your magic sky man and his water walking son says it’s bad doesn’t mean it is.

UK Black pride huh? Let's have UK White pride next year, and see if anyone judges you for being yourself then.

The comment section is absolutely disgusting. What exactly do you negative people get out of shaming people who are brave enough to openly celebrate themselves and their sexuality? It’s doing you no harm.

For all the people saying “straight pride” should be allowed. Sure. Go for it. Except, LGBTQIA+ Pride isn’t because we are “different” it’s a celebration of the oppression and isolation we’ve overcome. Its not about liking another man or changing your gender, it’s about the problems with society that we’ve overcome. Straight people don’t have that same problem and oppression in society. That’s why we have pride.

Mental illness and Narcissism month would be more appropriate - it covers all the LGBTQ issues neatly.

These people are sick and they need our sympathy so that they can come out of their madness
