20 years of Race Equality Directive, Regional offices make equality easily accessible!

The Equal Treatment Directives issued in 2000 made it possible for the Austrian Ombud for Equal Treatment to develop from a single body handling complaints on gender discrimination to a comprehensive anti-discrimination body. One of our proudest achievements was the expansion of the mandate of our regional offices in Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt und Linz to all grounds of discrimination. The Ombud for Equal Treatment is now accessible for many people also in the regions and is close to their concerns and needs.
