Same point Lee Mack once made about petrol prices, they don’t effect him, it’s 20 quid every time 😂

I miss Mock the Week so much, it was one of my favorite ways to keep up on current events from the UK. And Acaster is brilliant, as always.

I adore James Acaster. Britbox needs to put more James on it.

I love how he’s not even laughing.

**speaks his mind**
**people laugh**

His brain: why are these people laughing?

I truly love the look of “duh why are you asking me this I’ve been clear this whole time” James has. It’s the same look I give my partner when he asks me something he already knows the answer to. I’ve passed it along to my son (aged 8) who has ASD who is a literal thinker and extremely (unknown to himself) sarcastic gives him as well even though he does it unintentionally. 😂

The court Jester was a valuable tool for the King, with his silliness he distracted the crowds from the severity of the situation.

Me and my husband put his comedy special on years ago, and he was sooo British and so goofy we were doubled over laughing like little kids the whole special. 😂

I went on a trip to the UK for a week and a half exactly a decade ago, and right now I could have done that trip for about 40% less money because of the exchange rate difference. That's really sad considering the insane hyperinflation we've seen in the US as our national debt has skyrocketed up to 35 trillion dollars when it was only 1.1 trillion in 1983

But how many freddos can you buy with your pound? Soon freddos will be a stronger currency than the pound.

To be fair, we can literally fly to Amsterdam and still use our card 😅

The problem is that you don't want other currencies, but all the shops importing goods for you to buy do want other currencies

James makes things that are actually stupid sound like total sense.

And that how most Brits don;t understand how the GBP plunged from 1.45 to the euro in 2016 (before the referendum), to about 0.95 and never recovered, now averaging 1.14. British economy was downgraded from AAA to Aa2, growth is expected to be negative, and the UK now sits number 19 in the G20, just in front of Russia.

Other countries did recover since covid, again not the case for the UK.
