I have talked to Velotric and they said that it's because the T1 (non step-thru version) gets 70 miles of range, 18 more miles than the ST, because it has the "Velopower E35+" drive system, which looks the same as their E35 drive system and of course same battery size, but the person I was talking to swears that it is a more efficient drive system.

Now, as to what exactly is more efficient about it, I don't know, but I can take a guess. 18 miles of range is quite a lot more, it's 34.6% more than 52 miles (step-thru version has 52 miles of range). Could the new drivetrain make that much of a difference even though battery size, torque and wattage figures are all identical? Believe it or not, geometry does play a significant role in how much power you can put down from your own pedaling, and the normal version has much better geometry for that. Other than this, the new E35+ drive system is probably a bit more efficient but I am suspicious as to whether or not they modified the pedal assist level.

For example, the ST's pedal assist 1 may provide a bit more power than the T1's pedal assist, and this pattern carries on with the rest of the pedal assist levels. If this is the case then over the span of 50-80 miles, it would make sense that the T1 gets more range just because it overall uses less power from the motor on all pedal assist levels except for level 0 and level 5 (turbo).

The ST is well priced on sale. The non ST is well overpriced. You don't need all that tech, maybe add some suspension or a 3gear belt drive.

I know this is random but what kind of pants are you wearing? I’ve been looking for a pair of pants with a shade of burgundy for awhile.

I have the Velotrics T1ST and 51 miles, yeah only if you turn off assist for part of the ride, well if you Are 250 pounds like me, expect milage in the 40ish mile range maybe just 32 miles. An that is all in the green mode and turning off assist ever down hill. I guess the sailing point is carrying the bicycle up stair, it is in every paid review. it now has battery extender. It does not come in colors, unless your mean just 2. That woman need a smaller bicycle, it was to big for her. I got mine from a bicycle shop, I don't recommend this because they keep all the tools an extra parts, like the bell and sell them separately like thieves. Your review is lacking, it must be a free bicycle for you and your paid. Use a Garmin bicycle computer for all that other riding information, then you can use Strava to archive your rides, duh. OMG you have to look at 4 lights, man get over it, it is a fitness E-bicycle. That phone mount also works for all Garmin bicycle computers. Learn what bicycling really means and not just making money. I can get 22.9 mph in the green mode slacker. The initial bump in speed is to get you going, duh. Get a real job. Learn what bicycles are used for and why before you review them.
