Edit: Some lyrics that really confirm to me that it’s about her are “you used to tell me all the time I ain’t your type” - there is an old interview of Ariana saying Mac wasn’t her type before they dated.
And just the overall theme of the woman seeming sweet and innocent but surprises Mac behind closed doors. Ariana has always had that sweet innocent vibe especially in 2013 when they first met. “Dorothy ain’t in Kansas anymore” “I thought you was an angel but now you’re yelling to the lord”

This song reminds me of my ex. Used to fit her description perfectly, especially how shit went down. She ended up breaking my heart, it’s been over a year and I’m mostly over it now, however, this song still holds a special place in my heart and reminds me of the good times. Short lived but my god was that time amazing and I’m happy to carry these experiences as I carry on. She’s been broken since childhood, but I hope that she finds her peace as I have found mine
