I agree with Colin's predraft take of Barkley being the best player in the draft but not the best player for the Giants. He never was. Mara needs to learn how to hire competent people and let them do their job. Gonna have palpations because your most popular player is leaving after turning down the contract you offered? Popular doesn't win games. The Giants are 34-64-1 since drafting Barkley. Barkley's narrative hasn't made since the entire time, he clearly wanted out.

Oh please, Schoen made 3! offers to Saquon BEFORE he made ANY offer to Daniel Jones! They were going to Tag Jones and sign Saquon. The final offer was more than he is making in Philly now. So, sorry, Saquon didn’t want to be here anymore, point blank period. Even when his agent told Schoen the Price after shopping him around, Schoen asked the agent, so great he said, if I offer this to Saquon right now, he’s going to choose us? We can sign this deal and make him a Giant and get him out in front of the camera. The agent’s reply was ehhh, I’m not saying that. BECAUSE Saquon was gone already! They didn’t make another offer after the Eagles did, because it was ONLY for the Agent to get Saquon MORE money, he was NEVER coming back to NY. I’m a Giants fan, yes.. Proud of it. Made their little playoff run, blew out a HORRIBLE Vikings defense, then got SMOKED by a better Eagles Defense & Offense. Then where were they going to PIVOT? Daniel Jones just “won” a playoff game, they already spent half the season trying to get a deal done with Saquon, then half the off season trying to work out a deal. Nothing happened. What QB were they going to bring in here ? And for people saying oh he’s getting this much guaranteed money, blah blah blah. How much cheaper is he than the underperforming Trevor Lawrence who also only won ONE playoff game, against who, the Chargers with Herbert who’s getting a Boat Load of money. The Prices are Only going up for QBs & WRs. Schoen & Daboll should have 2 more years to at least get “THEIR” QB in here and have a chance. Can’t be changing coaches and GMs every 2-3 years. Entering the damn coaching carousel every 2-3 years. That’s the Joke! Mara needs to tune out Sports Pundits like this guy. Let the people you Pay, pick the players and run the team.
