It’s crazy to think that’d be the only way Rick is alive a season later. I always attributed Rick not telling anyone what he saw to him thinking he was going crazy again. Rick was under a lot of stress and he was trying to keep it together. He most likely thought he was seeing things again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the helicopter shows up again in Season 9 and a few times again in Season 10, then again in the season 11 premiere and Rick sends out a team including Eugene, Magna, maybe Daryl and some others to not only find Stephanie’s group but to follow the helicopter as well. After finding Princess, they then stumble upon the source of the helicopter: THE COMMONWEALTH
