Dhaka (/ˈdɑːkə/ DAH-kə or /ˈdækə/ DAK-ə; Bengali: ঢাকা, romanized: Ḍhākā, IPA: [ˈɖʱaka]), formerly known as Dacca,[15] is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is the ninth-largest and seventh-most densely populated city in the world. Dhaka is a megacity, and has a population of 10.2 million residents as of 2022, and a population of over 22.4 million residents in Greater Dhaka.[16][17][18] It is widely considered to be the most densely populated built-up urban area in the world.[19][20] Dhaka is the most important cultural, economic, and scientific hub of Eastern South Asia, as well as a major Muslim-majority city. Dhaka ranks third in South Asia and 39th in the world in terms of GDP. Lying on the Ganges Delta, it is bounded by the Buriganga, Turag, Dhaleshwari and Shitalakshya rivers. Dhaka is also the largest Bengali-speaking city in the world.

Jakarta (/dʒəˈkɑːrtə/; Indonesian pronunciation: [dʒaˈkarta] (listen), Betawi: Jakarte, formerly Dutch: Batavia), officially the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (Indonesian: Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta), is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. Lying on the northwest coast of Java, the world's most populous island, Jakarta is the largest city in Southeast Asia, and serves as the diplomatic capital of ASEAN. The city is the economic, cultural, and political centre of Indonesia. It possesses a province-level status and has a population of 10,562,088 as of mid-2021.[9] Although Jakarta extends over only 664.01 km2 (256.38 sq mi) and thus has the smallest area of any Indonesian province, its metropolitan area covers 9,957.08 km2 (3,844.45 sq mi), which includes the satellite cities Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, South Tangerang, and Bekasi, and has an estimated population of 35 million as of 2021, making it the largest urban area in Indonesia and the second-largest in the world (after Tokyo). Jakarta ranks first among the Indonesian provinces in the human development index. Jakarta's business and employment opportunities, along with its ability to offer a potentially higher standard of living compared to other parts of the country, have attracted migrants from across the Indonesian archipelago, making it a melting pot of numerous cultures.

Kota Dhaka sepertinya lebih modern krn banyak gedung2 tinggi tersebar merata diseantero kota, sedangkan kota Jakarta terlihat lebih banyak perkampungan diseanteto kota dan gedung tingginya yg terlihat hanya sebaris dalam satu jalur terlihat dibelakang gedung yg nampak hanya berupa rumah/perkampungan seluas mata memandang..itu yg saya lihat tak tahu yg sebenarnya bila tanpa menjejak nyata disana

Dhaka is a developing city, but jakarta is already developed . Secondly, Dhaka lots of high rise building But the skyscraper are less, but there are not so many high rise buildings in Jakarta, there are all skyscrapers, both are better than the two places.

Saya jadi terinspirasi, kalau negara kita tidak dipimpin oleh pemimpin yg amanah, bukan mustahil negara kita di masa yg akan datang seperti Bangladesh

so my opinion is...

The city of Dhaka has a number of small to medium-sized buildings that are very evenly distributed throughout the city, and if you look at the style of the buildings in this city it is similar to the buildings of the early 20th century which are identical to square/rectangular buildings, it's just that some buildings are difficult to distinguish. the function and appearance are the same, in fact I can't differentiate one building from another because they are similar to apartments or lodgings, also if you look at some of the buildings that are not well maintained, I also don't see green open spaces very often in this city.

The city of Jakarta seems to have buildings that are much more modern and several buildings such as buildings can be differentiated according to their function, whether business, offices, hotels and so on. overall the layout of the city is much more orderly than Dhaka city, plus it is also clean and the buildings look very well maintained overall and there are also green open spaces. It's just that the existence of tall buildings next to simple residential homes creates a quite striking impression of social inequality, but the density of residential homes there reminds me of Japanese houses, only the roofs are different.

Maybe that's just my opinion.
