Audi & VW Oil Level Sensor and Oil Temperature Sensor Replacement

How to quickly replace an electronic oil level sensor or an electronic dipstick.

Many modern vehicles do not come from the factory with a traditional dipstick. Instead, the vehicle's computer relies on an electronic dipstick that sits in the oil pan. This sensor also keeps track of the oil temperature. An easy enough job to do on your own if the sensor in your vehicle has stopped working or is leaking.

Not sure, if you can test the oil level sensor with the heat gun

Nice video! Does anyone know if a faulty oil level sensor triggers a DTC? I don't think so. Our Audi 2014 Q5 oil level sensor is reading constant "full" when I know it's probably not full. I think the sensor has gone bad. Just ordered a manual dipstick from ESC tuning and will probably need to replace the sensor.

I think a sensor could be a good complement to a traditional dip stick, but replacing it is just plain silly.

How do you know if the sensor is bad? Mine is showing the oil level but it's lower than half on the gauge. I have about 2, 800 on my last oil change. I did a clear all codes on it due to a PCV DCT, and it went back to full, then after a little bit over driving it went back down. I have a dip stick and it's showing full. So that makes me think the sensor is bad. What do you think before I order one? Thanks.

My oil level sensor is dicking about on my B8 S4 - I have a dipstick and it shows just below full - Opening the hood resets the MMI but after a handful of miles the warning pops up on the dash to add 1LTR - Might be time to replace this sensor. Thanks for the video

Ive got a 2015 polo 6c tsi 1.2 highline 81kw with the exact same oil level sensor but there is no cable plugging into the sensor. Also the car has a dipstick so why put one in if its not being used?

It's an oil level sensor. I don't think it also is a temperature sensor.

Sparying the head of the bolt with penitration oil doesn't do anything except just waist penitration oil.
