As a Mexican I'm quite impressed that the government at least once made something impressive and good as Cancun based on computers!

So you're telling me that the Bank of Mexico calculated the best tourist destination and played Cities Skylines in real life?

We spent too much time wondering if we Cancun and not enough if we Shouldcun.

The most impressive thing in this video is that the biggest cookie ever made was 754km2.

Well, turns out that was a lie.

I'm going to sue you for copyright on this thumbnail

That’s a impressively modest budget to make a city, including infrastructure

I think you meant m^2 instead of km^2 when you showed the size of the cookie. 754 km^2 is insanely large.

This dude has a different tone of voice for both his channel. More cheerful for HAI and more informative for Wendover. Sam is a magician.

1:27 well of course they wanted to build the city from the ground up. Have you ever tried building a city from the sky down? It's difficult!

That coastline has some of the best waters for swimming. The second largest reef in the world is just off the coast so the waters are teeming with life. I would go swimming at the resort I stayed at and would be surrounded by huge turtles, poked at by fish, I even saw a few massive stingrays and a barracuda, all less than 50m off shore at a resort with thousands of other people.

I was born in Cancun, when I was a kid the city was so small, quiet, safe and everything was kinda new.
Today Cancun downtown is another world compared to the hotel zone where tourists arrive.
The city itself is ok... Except for the insecurity, but, we have no earthquakes, tornados, about 1 hurricane each decade, consistent tropical climate year round and lots of natural wonders to pass the time.

Funny Thing: In other mexican cities and towns the church is on front of the city hall (New Spain Times) but not in Cancun and when a Mayor tried to move the city hall, the people were against it because we are not a city founded to spread the spanish religion, we are a city founded by Mexicans on the 20th century were the state and religion are separate by the constitution.

Can't imagine how many hours of stock footage of a man saying "You're in charge of our tourism industry" they had to comb through for this one

incredible job sam, you (your writers) managed to get through a whole cancun video without making a single ted cruz joke! impressive!

1:18 The largest cookie ever made was 754 square METERS, not 754 square KILOMETERS. Holy crap though, could you imagine a cookie with a diameter of 31 kilometers or 19.25 miles?

Apparently computers can also accurately predict where Ted Cruz will go when the Texas power grid fails

Wow I'm sitting here in Cancun airport, watching YouTube while waiting for my flight and suddenly I see this video popping up. What a coincidence!
And while sitting in a bus from NYC to Washington DC a few weeks ago I was watching a HAI video where he made a Newark Airport joke, precisely while I drove by the exit to Newark Airport
