What I love about the x100 and ricoh GR cameras are that the wife could never tell when i get a new one.

Having owned a GRiii, it is absolutely mind boggling how many features the Ricoh engineers fit into that tiny powerhouse of a camera! The image quality and lens are insane on these cameras.

I have both a GR III and a X100V. The Fuji is so beautiful, has flip screen, a great viewfinder, a joy to hold and take pictures. I take a camera with me all the time and find myself picking up the Ricoh much more often. Pocketability is the thing. And the lens is really great .

I think you do a really nice job at explaining things in a way that is relatable and realistic. I enjoy my GRIII -- it's somewhere in-between a toy camera and a spy camera, but with a sharp lens and an APS-C sensor. I love my Fuji cams but the Ricoh color profiles are something that I really enjoy. Also great in nature. Rock on <3

I am a primary M shooter and I adore the GR3 in snap focus mode at f/5.6 as a pure P&S. I could definitely use it as my only camera. I also have an X100V and never touch it TBH, and your comments about usage patterns really resonates with me.

Sold my X100V and got this. Dont regret it much, one thing that I do miss is the viewfinder.

I have been using the original GR from 2013. 10 years later it still going strong. It’s my favorite camera of all time, even when compared to my Leica M’s. A true take every where camera.

I have owned the X100v and the Ricoh GR III.
I think the Ricoh takes sharper and clearer pictures. Another advantage of the Ricoh for me is the IBIS and the DNG RAW format.

The lack of a viewfinder bothers me less with the Ricoh than the lack of a flip-up display.

The Ricoh GR III, a card reader and an iPad fit in every travel bag. An unbeatable combo.

Can I just say how much I love your lighting set up? It's so even.

I was thinking about getting the X100V, but then went for the X-T5 because I wanted interchangable lenses (coming from Canon EOS). I'm honestly really glad that I did, I was later able to try an X100V from a friend and it felt like a really "weird" size. It's too large to be truly pocketable unless you wear cargo- or very loose fitting pants, really not muuuuch smaller than an X-T5 with a very thin lens on, but misses many of the back buttons (let alone interchangeable lens support). It's this slightly "awkward" middle-ground where I'd rather have a more fully-feature X-T5 and a much smaller camera like the GRIIIx. Just my thoughts though.

I learned my lesson about dust with my X70 and X100. I have had a filter on this since day 1. No dust. I think the dust issue is so big because there's not too many things to complain about with this camera, so the little things blow up. I'd say it has the same dust problem intensity as the X70 or X100. Really a non-issue if you use a lens cap or filter before sticking it into linty pockets. ✨

The GRIII replaced the X100V for me. It’s just so pocketable, incredibly easy to use, and the color profiles on it are so good I’ve actually been using the jpgs.

Now I have the GRIII for everyday carry, and the X-T5 for vacations or going out with photography in mind.

I’m still using my GRii. I take it everywhere in a little padded pouch. It was the only camera I took to Europe once, and I’ve even done some astrophotography with it. It’s a brilliant camera.

"All photo exists of me were taken on an Iphone" - I feel that one so much, since I'm always the one behind the camera taken pictures of the family 😀
You already touched on the AF, but would be interesting to see, if your opion changes after using it for a fews and compare it next to the X100V. Most videos on YT say it's quite bad, therefore interested in your experiecen.
What is also known is the bad battery life due to physics. Still would be interesting to compare it to the X100 series in regards of how many shots on one battery.
I personally would like to see a new release GRIV with weather sealing, improved AF and perhaps optimised battery (if they want to keep the size only way to reduce battery consumption is by using parts which use less).

The Ricoh GRIII/GRIIIx with a monochrome sensor (like Ricoh's Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome) would be a killer camera. A monochrome sensor would be extremely useful for this camera, as it would compensate for its biggest drawback, the f2.8-only lens, with the one-stop extra light sensitivity gained by removing the Bayer sensor array.

I legitimately thought the photos taken at Christmas time by you and your family were from the 70’s or early 80’s! Mind blown 🤯

I used to own an X100V (Pre-Hype), sold it off after some light use and was absolutely surprised by this sudden popularity, which came out of the blue. Now, I do own the GR IIIx and personally, I think it's the better camera, more compact, more fun. :–)

Just bought a GR III HDF on impulse during my Barcelona trip and I didn't know that I'd enjoy it so much! My Nikon ZF will probably be sleeping for quite a while.

The GR III produces PHENOMENAL image quality. Sharpest lens I have ever used, and I've used a few. Highly recommended. Tough as boot leather - magnesium alloy body. Had mine 2 years and no dust issues - so that factor is definitely over-hyped for sure. Try not to put it in your pocket too much though due to the lint.
