The debate over reopening schools amid a surge of new coronavirus cases continues in Florida. Parents are pushing for schools to reopen in the fall, but the Florida Educators Association is suing to stop Governor Ron DeSantis' order for schools to reopen next month. Manuel Bojorquez reports.

My trade school has been open for months already and we haven't had any cases in our school.

I've been talking with business owners and they are short-staffed because they have employees under quarantine. How are these schools going to function if teachers and subs get sick and go into quarantine for 2 weeks? Also once out of quarantine you can still pass on the virus, doctors don't know how long immunity lasts, and there have been cases of people getting COVID twice.

It's ok because if 1 kid gets it from school, the rest of schools in the state will shutdown

I will post this on every video I can see about schools reopening. My wife and I were discussing on how bad of an idea this is and we found the best/worst comparison. Virginia tech mass shooting killing 32 people in 2007 was horrible to our nation, one of the worst in our history. Virginia tech has an average of 30, 000 students plus the staff making the fatality about a 0.1%. In the best/worst case scenario the government is asking us to be ok with start a mass shooting in every single school in our nation because the mortality rate in kids is lower than a 1% (which is ten times more than the largest mass shooting in any school in the USA history) Think about it!
