"Lost Soul" by Sialik King

I will tell you of a time
When we were united
When we were one

We laughed
We smiled
He was handsome and good

He was the best I could ask for
We were happy
We were happy

Until one treacherous day he enlisted in the war
He was surely going to die
How could he do this to me
Why couldn’t he see that he was surely doomed
I can’t do this anymore
I can’t do this anymore

Then one day a knock on my door
Two American soldiers appeared
They handed me a red envelope
I already knew he was dead
They left and I cried until I had no more

He is my everything
I can’t live without him
