Kansas City Christmas traditions include the Plaza lights, the Mayor's Christmas tree in Crown Center and the Kansas City Ballet's Nutcracker. While there are still roughly 155 shopping days until Christmas, KC Ballet's artistic director Devon Carney is rushing to put the finishing touches on a whole new version of the holiday favorite. We take you to upstate New York to check in on the progress. Kansas City Symphony concertmaster Noah Geller shows us his favorite fountain. Ashley Holcroft introduces us to freelance illustrator Rachel Ignotofsky whose work has been featured everywhere from Buzzfeed to Scientific American. And from WMVS in Milwaukee, we learn about Ten Chimneys, the former estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, which is now the preeminent fellowship program for actors with a minimum of 20 years of experience.
