The question of the ball when you divided 200 by 0.8 isn't it 250 kg then instead of 25kg?

In the first question, how is it that only gravity is acting on the ball? Why not the push from our hand? If it is not acting why does the ball keep going upwards? I understand that there is momentum due to the force from our hand. But I am confused. Please clarify.
