It was an immaculate concert to me. Brahms 2nd Piano Concerto and 2nd Symphony. But I wouldn't have though this would be the last time I saw the maestro. He never returned to Boston afterwards. That was the last program of the season. I remember waiting for him outside the symphony hall, and there were a few of us thanking him for the performance.

It really surprised me because after a concert in Lucerne Maestro Haitink announce his retirement. And now he is in Boston conducting Brahms. Nonsense. Beautiful anyway!💐💐💐💐
