how does that piece on the catapult that keeps the discs in place and then get out of the way work, I believe I see string connected to the gear, and I understand that portion, but how does it spring back in place?

I’m trying to build a catapult as well did you use a slip gear if so how many teeth did you cut of and what size gears did you use I can’t seem to get it right
