I do like the machine. I bought it used from craigslist. I replaced the spindle bearings and had a broken Y-axis coupling I had to replace. It was cheap but a pain to get too.

My KX1 was made before they started including the single shot oiler so I have to manually oil the dovetails. I didn't know that when I first got the machine and it would shutter while rapid traveling.

The configuration that came with the machine was the biggest problem. I did not know how to set the step per (inch or mm) for each axis and while the default configuration that Little Machine Shop creates for the KX1 is pretty close I noticed that it was off a couple thou at 6 inches of X travel. I found this amazing video that helped me calibrate my machine Improved Mach 3 Axis Calibration

This is awesome. I do all my 80's on a manual x2. Do you ever think you can do a complete lower from a block of aluminum with this machine?

Good video! Are you liking the machine overall? Thinking about picking up a couple to share tools and do small part runs.

I used MasterCam to generate the tool paths. I used solidworks to import the model I found online and convert it into a model I can import into MasterCam.

I want to buy a mill lathe combo but I like the cnc. I dont want to grow out of the simple lathe and I dont want to spend 8K up front. How is this Sieg KX1 compare.
