Don't be like me and wait forever until you clean your air fryer! 🤢 I'll show you how I cleaned my Cosori air fryer as well as some of my Philips Air Fryer (due to video length, I mostly focused on the Cosori Air Fryer). Hope you find this helpful!

And here is the recipe for my homemade cleaner:
1 part baking soda
1 part blue dawn (or another great degreaser)
2 parts hydrogen peroxide

I think if a woman engineer worked on the Cosori Air Fryer, she would have had a clip on the heating element so it could be unclipped to fold down and then…..easy peasy to clean! 🤔 Once done, fold it back up and clip!

You have the best air fryer videos. I love my Cosori and your channel has been a lifesaver. Please keep them coming.

Great tips, thanks. As someone who uses their air fryer daily to make all kinds of things, I realized I need to really be caring for it more in regards to cleaning.

I used mine for about three months. I generally do not grease or oil food, even if the recipe says to. Always washed after each time, wiped what I could see inside it. However when it started smoking a lot, it became obvious it needed a good clean. Most of the oil and fat buildup was in places that could not be seen. My husband is an engineer so taking it all apart was easy for him...the gunk inside it was awful. Cleaning like what was demonstrated here would have gotten even near that because you couldnt see it. There needs to be some major re-designing here to make cleaning easy and the use of the machine itself safer to prevent fires.

Great tip is to cut lemons in hot water and a drop of washing-up liquid, heat in air fryer for 10 mins to soften up the grease making it easier to clean before this cleaning processes...PLEASE DO NOT OVER FILL WITH WATER WHICH CAN OVERFLOW and mess up your air fryer!!!!

TIP: If you want to know if your air fryer is clean or dirt cook hard boiled eggs in the air fryer. 250 for 20 min. If the eggs come back speckled with brown stuff you didn't clean your air fryer good enough. Dunk those eggs in cold water and clean it agian then enjoy your eggs. I use vinegar to clean my deep fryer and it works well and I don't have to worry about any chemically after tastes. Fun fact: Restaurants use vinegar for cleaning ti's safe.

7:50 - I can see that the Phillips element is held down with movable rods, similar to those inside a standard upright oven. This means that the rods can be undone and the element can be lifted slightly, if not completely, to make cleaning easier. 👍👍

I really feel the manufacturers should make airfryers with self-cleaning function 😂 Or at least make it easier to do a deep cleaning. To clean the heating component is a real pain. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I wipe the grill and area around it with a damp cloth every time I use it but never thought to turn it upside down and get gritty with it 😊 one of the best air fryer vids I’ve seen! 👏🏾

Thank you so much! I owned my Phillips for over 2 years and never deep cleaned it! The owners manual doesn't talk about cleaning the heating element. I just finished cleaning it the way you showed. Excellent tutorial!

The heating element is usually easy to move because they're mounted with 1 or 2 Phillips head screws. You just need to move it out enough to get underneath.

So happy I watch this before I bought the air fryer! Yeah you don’t hear this disclosed very often but it certainly is an important element of air fryer operations, good job Kathy

Thank you. I'm going to try your ideas on my PowerXL air fryer oven tomorrow. It's easy to clean but I don't ever think to turn it over and do the heating element parts. Can't wait to see what a year of use looks like. LOL. You are a a very good helper. Thanks again. :)

I just got the Gowise 1700 and my goodness I’m loving it! I do not smell a “new smell” thankfully, but it’s a bit bigger than I expected, and I’m subscribed to ur channel for cooking ideas and I enjoy ur cleaning tip too! Very nice 👍🏻

If you look carefully at 7:45, you can see that the thin rods holding the heating element in place are bayonet style. Unclip the top one then I'm sure that you can pivot and lift the element out the way for cleaning.
I don't have one, so I can't verify this...
