Join M as he reviews his vintage GoBots Turbo (aka Machine Robo Series MR-07 Supercar Robo) as part of his collector’s guide to vintage 1980’s GoBots. Turbo was a futuristic looking red sports car that was heavily featured in the 1980’s Challenge of the GoBots television series. In this review, we take a close look at the figure in vehicle mode and robot mode, show the date stamp so that you know what to look for on the secondary market to ensure that you are buying an authentic figure and we also do a few size comparisons with Crasher and Spoiler from the GoBots line and G1 Windcharger and Tailgate, who are vintage Generation 1 minibots from the G1 Transformers line.

My grandma bought me this toy way back in 1983. I lost it later. I am assuming she threw it away (like most of my toys) because I became too old. I went on eBay and bought me a vintage one. At age 43 I am having fun transforming Turbo while watching YouTube videos of the Gobots. Fun times.

I bet anyone who says gobots are rubbish still bought them back in the day.... I really want a crasher and jeeper creeper and the blackbird jet one as I had those last 2 as a kid.... great vid as always

Absolutely love the character and toy for Turbo!! I never had him as a child but was lucky enough to have a friend who did and we would often swap our toys for a few days at a time.. so i got to experience Turbo back then. For me Turbo has always had that great blend of being like the supercars of the time such as Ferrari and Lamborghini but with that slightly futuristic sci fi feel to it. Which obviously is very important to a 4 or 5 year old lol. Wonderful video M. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing

Another interesting cool fact: Turbo in the cartoon was voiced by Arthur Burghart, the voice of Devastator as well as GI Joe's own Destro, Stalker, Iceberg, & Zap

I love a good respectful honest Gobot review. They are great figures and they dont deserve the negative reputation they have. As a child in the 80s I dont remember this Gobot hate people apparently had . A transforming robot was a freaking transforming robot and that all that mattered. Good review my friend, glad I subscribed.

Nice review bro! You need to keep on spreading the Gobot word out there. I remember having him as a kid too and thinking about why did he have rubber wheels while the minibots I had only had cheap plastic wheels.

Epic review Transformers and Video :D It amazes me how the Gobots are still able to have vehicle modes that rival the G1 Transformers, such as the ones you show, the Minibots. :) Keep on being amazing, Double Thumbs Up. ;D

Nice to hear from you again, M! Quite interesting review, I remember Turbo, I think he looks like a Ferrari F-40 in his design, but having one that's virtually in pristine condition is quite amazing, this is what happens when you take care of your toys. The Gobots may not be the most sought after 80's toys, but they were still quite cool, and many fans still like them today, I had more of an interest in the Transformers at that time, but the Gobots had cool robots in their line.
