God who knows the utter depths of human depravity (Jer 13:23, 17:9), had already settle the question (The Fate Of False Prophets). False prophets were to die without mercy (Deut 13:5, 18:20, cf. 7:2) for their words, like a deadly cancer, would spread confusion, unbelief, and ultimate disaster to all who heeded them (2 Tim 2:1-17).
