SCP-341 | A Collection of Extra-Solar Orreries (SCP Orientation)

SCP Orientation is an archive of files of the SCP Foundation.

Today we will be studying Item number SCP-341: A Collection of Extra-Solar, Object class: Safe.

A collection of eleven brass and iron orreries found in a large storage room of a basement at Oxford comprise SCP-341. Each orrery is a rough scale model of a different extra-solar star system, complete with planets, moons and one or more suns in the center. Testing dates each machine to be between 150-200 years old.

One orrery, known as "the wheel of doom" amongst researchers, depicts a similar solar system very reminiscent of our own Sol's. The orrery is missing a model of Earth and instead has a free Moon roaming through a debris field similar to the asteroid belt present between Mars and Jupiter.

Interesting: an example of an SCP that isn't itself anomalous, but represents knowledge that would have been impossible to have at the time of its creation. I guess the real research would be in trying to figure out where the knowledge to build these models came from?

This is good example of borderline SCP. It could be classified as a mundane thing. Apparently, we have underestimate the Olde Time astronmers and their capacity to spot system. This SCP could be made non-classified and be chalked up as "Astronomers were just that good after all" and the shattered earth being part of some prophetical nonsense..

Because Ancient Astronomy always had somesort of world end tacked somewhere.

But then again, what if this just ain't a product of a good clockwork, hella accurate telescope and some prophetic mumbojumbo, but something more that needs some Securing, containing and protecting.

That final oerry must be a model of our Solar System from an alternate universe, which means that this either this SCP is able to display solar systems from other universes or the SCP itself is from another universe

The description is about objects that are likely related to something anomalous but there's no trace of the anomaly itself. What are they containing then? The info?

must be fromt he universe where tiamat wasent destoyed or earth never formed since apperently tere was tiamat it was then destoyed makign the asteroid belpt and the earth. thats why no earth.
