Don’t forget the “well even if we try chemotherapy there’s still going to be those few who still have cancer and refuse chemo” argument

"No, cancer doesn't affect me personally and implementing chemo therapy would be a pain"
1. Raw ass line, love it
2. The first part is selfish and inhuman
3. To the second part, anything worth doing is a pain. Very few things that are important are easy. The things that are easy should have been done a long time ago

More like: "We have a cancer problem."

Doctor: Have you tried shooting it?

"F*** off, I like cancer!" -Jim Jeffries, in this hypothetical scenario.

PS: if you haven't seen Jim Jeffries stand up on gun control, go watch it now, it is a masterpiece.

“Shame on you for using a national tragedy to further your own agenda.”

This is said far too much in these sad situations. This is undeniably accurate.

"Then let's try tackling those environmental and nutritional issues"
"No that's socialism"

I wasn’t looking at this while I was listening to it, and I thought to myself, ‘What the eff is he talking about?? Normally I’m so impressed with how funny he is and he never spreads misinformation..’ so I looked down at the video and saw the caption and said, “Clever Doc… well done…” I serious thought he sounded crazy, which clearly was the point. Lol!

Thank you for adding captions to this video (I don’t remember if they’re in most). I’m neurodivergent and legitimately cannot watch most media (including films, YouTube videos/shorts), instagrams posts and such unless it has captions at the bottom of the video because I also have auditory processing disorder. I’m unaware of the reason you put captions in, but genuinely thank you. Please know it’s appreciated.

Everyone hates guns and police until you need either

The CDC is not even allowed to study gun violence as a cause of injury and death. One of the most common uses for guns is suicide. Those are more likely to be impulsive, giving others no time to intervene.

Red flag laws for domestic violence and suicide risks; background checks; and parental accountability when minors commit crimes with guns from their own homes would save lives. Those measures would no more violate 2nd Amendment rights, than libel & slander laws, and laws against incitement to violence, violate 1st Amendment rights.

As a person from a smaller country in Europe it astounds me tho hear how many "cancer" cases you guys have got. I have never heard in my life of a "mass cancer" in my country. We have chemo here, it's very effective. Are there black market cigarettes going around? Sure. But even so, it's a rare thing to hear about a gangster cancer on TV. I really hope you guys get a handle on things. It's absurd how many cases pop up in the states.

I think a more acurate anology would be with chemo being a gun analogue. "If the chemo therapy was readily available before the cancer diagnosis, it could be taken care of more efficiently." All mass shootings end with the assailant being taken down by a person with a gun. Putting guns in the hands of regular citizens decreases the time a assailant can kill, because the people theyre trying to kill will defend themselves. Where otherwise youd have to wait till someone shows up to defend you, with a gun.

As a Belgian: we had really lax gun laws (way more free than the US, except for carry laws) til 2006. You could just buy a gun and had to just inform the local police. For full automatic weapons, you would need a license.
There was a shooting and since then, we have much more strict gun laws.

Since 2006 terrorist attacks and murders have gone up.

No no no we need more cancer to fight cancer.

Really like this one. I have always felt there must be something between "no guns for anyone" and" all guns for everyone!" But I live in Tennessee, so that makes me a radical leftist. We recently got rid of the need for a permit to carry your gun everywhere. I saw à lady in Walmart with a gun on one hip and a baby on the other hip last year, and it still haunts me. WTF

Next time I have to explain the apples to oranges expression to someone I’ll show them this

The comparison is more like 'we are losing too many people to cancer, so let's treat everyone who doesn't have cancer with chemotherapy'.

This is like comparing cancer to oh wait...
