In English, whenever you are happy, at home, or cold, you use the verb to be (am, are, is) to refer to all three things. However, in Spanish, we say estoy feliz (or in some cases soy feliz), estoy en la casa, and tengo frío!

Three different verbs are equivalent to the English verb “to be.” Today, we will discuss when it is most appropriate to use each verb!

First time watching and this is the best explanation I’ve received! And I’ve asked native Spanish speakers and even they couldn’t explain the difference😂. Buen trabajo! You’ve gained a new subscriber!

to say your age in spanish you use the verb TENER (to have) and NOT the verb To Be as in English.

Yo tengo (have) 20 años // Yo SOY (am) 20 años !!!WRONG!!!!
