KTLA's Andy Riesmeyer reports.

Very dumb, LA is dangerous. Except the advice move to Orange County was dead on

If you're under 18, NEVER have an Uber pick you up or drop you off in front of a high school. An experienced Uber driver will F with you, ruin your rating and charge you a cancellation fee. There will be nothing you can do about it.

Don’t walk your dog, always wear bulletproof vests, helmets, hire two security guards when out in public, dress like you’re homeless to avoid being mugged, stare at the ground when walking in public, keep looking both ways before AND during crossing the street, don’t eat fast food, don’t trust anyone, drive an armored tank to avoid road rage and car thefts, get your packages delivered to postal stations, …, there’s a few tips, but many more

The woman at 2:25 is wrong about passenger loading. COMMERCIAL loading is available for parking after 6pm (M-Sat, and all Sun). Passenger loading is for 5 minutes only and is enforced 24/7. (She is right about it being the YELLOW curb you can park at. Passenger is white.)

Never drive downtown always take Metro. Honestly if you can park at a metro station it's so easy to get downtown because all of the lines pretty much go there. Take Metro for concerts as much as you can unless you know you're going to be out past midnight because it stops at 12. Stadium Way is a great way to get from the 5 to downtown.

When you get a new job make sure it's west of where you live because the low sun in the winter coming home is brutal.

I've lived my entire adult life in LA since 1972. It has NOT gotten any better. In fact, it has gotten a lot worse. The Wilshire corridor used to be quite impressive but as early as the eighties, it went downhill quickly. I've lived in the very outer areas of LA County since 1977 and even these areas are overly congested now.

LAX - park at the long term garage just behind Hyatt. If the parking shuttles are delayed and they always are at LAX, you always have to option to just walk off the airport grounds by the Uber pick up area, cross sepulveda and you’re at your car without sitting at the airport terminal waiting for a shuttle that’s stuck in traffic.

Don't forget Metro has you covered - and whenever you mention a car service - Uber, Lyft.... have a good time, use them - but don't forget to remind users they must be alert and aware and always check the driver's I.D., confirm the service driver is legit. Anywhere you travel, not just L.A.

I'm from Chicago and we've never had to make a news story on how to love Chicago. It just comes naturally. That's pretty embarrassing, LA
