Today I got rejected from a master's programme at Helsinki's U. Could not believe I scored almost perfectly in all areas except in this one, which was considered to be fairly well written. In my opinion, giving it to someone to read it is one of the best tips to get your ideas flow. However, I believe what really got me low on the final score was that I could not show so much of my personality in the letter. We are always so focused on impressing that we forget who we truly are; yet, there must be a balance between professionalism and humanism. That is the real struggle here, especially in a foreign language. Anyways, best of lucks to all the applicants around the world!
