It's feasible that Ethereum could take the number one spot for a moment in time. However, once crypto and blockchain become adopted by those that are not tech savvy, scaling will become a MAJOR issue. The clear favorite to climb into the top spot within the next 5 years is ADA as it will be scalable and will be much more versatile than BTC or ETH.

Great video.. it is possible for eth to be the number one coin, but as we all know that the world of crypto is unpredictable and anything is possible we could by all means see a no 20 coin shoot to number 2 spot, time will tell.. but for now eth could possibly be the no one coin we just have to wait for plasma and shardding to get implemented then it will be hard to stop ETH..

On a purely speculative point, ETH may overtake BTC on volume trading if BTC goes too 100K- 1 million only because people won't be selling their bitcoin but at the same time ETH isn't really viewed as digital currency of means of exchange. Once bitcoin hits certain cost freshold and everyone truly HODLS it will be any other crypto like XRP, ADA, BCH, NANO, OR EOS That will take the mantle from btc

Eos to overtake ethereum before ethereum to touch bitcoin. Ethereum taking too long to deliver on promises of casper etc... . Raiden just a smokescreen to try get some P. R from Eos. Nano litecoin digibyte dash could all do a better when it comes micropayments. Litecoin as you mentioned already infiltrating banking so my guess that will get adoption first. But hey in cryto anything possible.
