Hi Shannon. Dental hygienist here. I’ve been a subscriber for quite a while, love your channel. I have seen people go through this many times. I’m not totally clear on exactly what they did, sounds like full extractions with implants to hold the dentures. This is an excellent option, you totally did the right thing, but let me tell you, you did fantastic! That was a lot! You killed it!! You will get used to them and there will probably be many adjustments along the way til you’re totally happy with it. That’s totally normal. Give yourself some time but know you did an amazing job and you’ll feel yourself in no time. Feel free to reach out if you’d like. Sending hugs!!

I have "soft" teeth and seemed to always have aching teeth. This last year, I decided to have all my uppers pulled and went with an upper plate. Best thing I ever did, no pain now and my confidence has soared. My denturist did a fantastic job. No one knows I have dentures. I pray you will be happy with your outcome.

Thank you Shannon and all the comments taking the stigma out of having bad teeth! I'm going through a lot with my teeth and was feeling judged by the dentist as if I don't brush or take care of them❤

Hi Shannon, I’m a dental hygienist and I always tell my patients to sing to help with learning to speak with their new prosthetics. I’m glad you’re healing and getting better. Merry Christmas!

Bless you, I’m 63 yo and you described my childhood and dental issues to a tee 😔 I just don’t understand why some of use have issues and some don’t. I spent an entire childhood at the dentist and I’m terrified of the dentist. You are a warrior for what you have gone through, you are beautiful with your new dental implants. Continue the healing process and thanks for bringing all of us along on your personal journey. ❤❤

Oh Shannon, been there, done that. A couple of times, actually, and now the prosthedontist wants to do more. I said no because the expense is so high and I'm in my eighties. (I wrote to you about a year ago when I realized you were from metro St Louis and I'm from Brentwood, MO although I now live in Michigan). You were very wise to go through this as a young person. Congratulations on making a tough decision and dealing with the pain associated with oral surgery. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. And 2025 will clearly be better than 2024! I love your videos and thanks for making them.

I hardly ever watch a 50 minute video, especially not craft related, but I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for quite some time and was very interested in your procedure. I’ve bounced this implant thing around for quite sometime. I know it’s super expensive, but I didn’t know anything else about it. You have been very helpful in documenting your journey. I thought when they put the teeth in, it was all done. I didn’t realize there are several temporary’s before the final. I have had bad teeth most of my life. I have several back teeth that have broken off in the back and so many of my fillings have fell out. For the most part I don’t have any tooth pain, but I do have gum pain. Everyone tells me that having bad teeth can be bad for your health. This is why I’ve been giving this a thought. I applaud you for going through this. You have been a trooper. Your husband is a godsend. I live alone so I would have to go to my son’s house for him to take care of me. I had a complete joint replacement surgery on my foot last year and he took great care of me. I couldn’t walk for two months. I do want to say that your new almost full smile looks great. Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m wishing you more and more recovery each day. Also have a Merry Christmas with your family and hopefully you’ll be able to eat a wonderful Christmas dinner.

Good for you Shannon you’re a sweet lady and deserve to have good teeth. I’m glad you were able to get them. That’s a big deal. I was crying to see you like that after surgery but then as you got better it made me happier. You have a good husband and a sweet dog.
I’m glad you shared your story to help others. God bless you. ❤😊

Shannon, I want to express my sincere appreciation for this video. I've struggled with dental issues since childhood, having a very small mouth, and I've always disliked going to the dentist because of it. It seems they often charge exorbitant fees for subpar work. I've had numerous root canals, crowns, and caps, only to have them break within three years, requiring further procedures, including bridges. I'm now considering implants. Your video, with its honest and straightforward approach, has significantly improved my understanding of what to expect. Thank you so much, Shannon!
Here's to a brighter year with your beautiful smile!

Hi Shannon.
It does get better. I’m about halfway through my process - I only had to have the top done. I had a bridge on each side and one kept coming out. It is such a relief to not have to worry about my teeth falling out in public
I am so glad I went through the process and I’m sure you will be too.

I know from whence you speak! I have always had bad teeth, and not enough money to have them fixed properly. I've had numerous root canals, that now are starting to disintegrate. I presently have 3 molars that are just ragged bits of enamel. No pain so far, thank goodness, so I will not be going to the dentist any time soon. Really looking forward to seeing your end results! I'm hoping you are a fast healer, and there is minimal, if no, pain for you!

I had this done about 10 years ago. The top only. Totally worth it to be pain free for the fist time ever. I was about 47 and still had baby teeth.
I have a feeling you are going to be much happier over teeth now! I believe in you! You got this! 💛

Shannon I really appreciate you making this video. I’m 70 yrs of age, and only have 5 teeth left on my bottom. I have a full denture on top. I’m one of those people that don’t like going to the dentist either. I had an accident when I was 5 and just got my 2 front permanent teeth jammed up into my gums which damaged the roots. I’ve held off getting another denture on the bottom because they flop around. I never ever thought they could screw in the bottom. I am ever so grateful for you to post this. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️ please keep us up dated.

I thought having all of my remaining upper teeth removed was painful, but my lower teeth were twice as bad, my genetics have some big nearly roots attached to the molars. I have dentures now, only can wear the uppers. Extremely painful experience. Shannon, you were brave, God was with you. Bet you are so glad it’s over. Ty for sharing. Prayers for a quicker recovery.

You're not alone. I had to have all my teeth removed when I was 31. ❤
