Breathable rain gear is a myth it only breathes until it's wet, it might do ok in moderate rain.
I've been soaked wearing high end breathable rain gear, it did ok for a few hours don't get me wrong but for a serious amount of rain get some serious rain gear like Helly Hansen non breathable or listen to all the marketing hype at your own risk.
