This was sung at the Commonwealth Day Service 2020 at Westminster Abbey, on Monday 9th March 2020.

My wife and I choose this hymn too for our wedding 32 years ago and whenever I hear it l am back in that church in rural Norfolk standing at the altar next to my beautiful wife.

My father passed away on June 27, 2023 and when the funeral services started packing up their speakers, this was one of the hymns that i had downloaded and played on my portable speakers to fill the empty void as his coffin was placed into the hearse.

Later on June 29, 2023 as his coffin was preparing to enter the cremation chamber, from the viewing gallery, I took out my mp3 player and played this hymn through my portable speakers and just as the hymn ended, his coffin was slowly moved by the machine into the creation chamber.

I cannot say how this hymn kept me in check as much as i wanted to cry my eyes out, i had to maintain a strong front for my family as the only child and for my mother and extended families.

We sang this very hymn at the Memorial Service for The Queen's mother, the late Queen Elizabeth in St Paul's Cathedral, London April 2002. I was on an Easter trip to England from Augusta, GA when the Lady passed away. The BBC had the congregation practice the hymns before the service to insure perfection before broadcasting worldwide. I'm not over it YET!

Ah, early March. The last shred of happiness evident here before the great plague hit. No masks, congregational praise, choral singing and human unity. I yearn for the day it returns.

This hymn was chosen at my beautiful Daughter's first wedding. The words relate the Perfect and beautiful Perfect Love of God which awaits us, and these words are magnified in the words "glory in Thy Perfect Love". What true and beautiful words!
She is in Australia with her two beautiful grown up children. Lord I did "seek first the Kingdom of God". Please Lord and our Mother of Heaven please look after them, love and protect them and eternally, help them and keep them in Your miraculous Love and give them reassurance too. Please send our Heartfelt Love to them too and please protect them. Help me/us to really help them too.
Thank You so much Lord and please help me to Trust You Lord and know that You will Protect them in Your Almighty Love.

Charles Wesley was the reason why I started hymn writing in the first place as I am a hymn composer by God's grace.

I could remember vividly this hymn was sung during my confirmation service in 1996 @ Holy Trinity Cathedral, Lokoja. Kogi State. When the then bishop Rt Revd George Bako (OON) Rtd, mounted on the pulpit for sermon. Tears rolled from my eyes. I felt like I was in heaven. I love this hymn 205.
