The Other 99, Ep. 49: Mind Seize

Today we begin our analysis of the new Commander preconstructed decks! Today We'll be taking a look at Top And Go Productions writer Nick Bateman's take on Mind Seize, the Grixis deck starring Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge, Nekusar, the Mindrazer, and Thraximundar, the death metal assassin.

Awesome preconstructed decktech. I liked, that you showed how to improve the deck end what you need to cut. It's always the hardest part of deckbuilding.

When you said the Nekusar would draw a lot of hate you where right, I didn't even do one mass draw spell before I got knocked out turn 6 from being focused by the table :(

Mind Seize is definitely my favorite out of the new commander decks. I love both Jeleva and Nekusar and am planning on building both. I'm also going to try an actual tribal build with Jeleva, but it's not going to be easy. Lots of creatures and lots of sorceries/instants will not leave much room for other cards and probably won't be that great, but I'm determined to do it. EDH/Commander is about having fun after all.

New sub here! Love your videos....and I already watched all of your videos! Some of the deck techs you post e.g. Edric "Snakemaster" with some game play it would be fantastic. I'd love to make the deck, but I would also like to see it's mechanics in action. Keep up the great vids though. Love your channel!

I didn't see Spiteful Visions in the "upgrades." It is an enchantment version of your Commander!  I also didn't see the classic Furnace of Rath. That ramps things up really quickly.

Well, Seizan, Perverter of Truth and Spiteful Visions should be in here if you're gonna run Nekusar. Although those can hurt you too, at the cost of drawing additional cards, you can get the job done a lot more quicker. Plus the tutors, too.

Lilliana Vess is a decent Planeswalker for this deck as well. The -2 for a tutor is pretty awesome. And if you trust get Jace, Memory Adept ends games.

plz plz plz do power hungry next I am so lost on what to do for it. I have a idea of using some of red cards that sac lands to then use cards like worm harvest and life from the loam to make a light dredge theme. But I have no idea what heavy token makers to keep or to add.

I am so Happy for evrryone Who saw the Same interesting sie of Minseize's Nekusar. I d Bild my nekusar deck around drawing cards and I HIGHLY recommand Sie of Insanity. He will pushen the discarding to a maximum. Butter Font think, that I'll Mill my self. Auf Bit ist true, Butter I can handle that Problem.

Strong card for the concept, but I can speculate why it might not be a viable option: A triple blue mana cost, plus the X leaves not a lot draw power until late game. Just a thought.
