This cleared things up lol I have a 2015 and the other videos show the oil drain plug is metal. Couldn’t find it anywhere until I saw this. Good to know that it’s plastic now 🙃🙃

2016 X1 2.8i F48 engine Twin Turbo assembled in Brazil is totally different. ONLY use 0W-20W oil same as Porsche uses. This is for the Turbos for starting (stop/start also) service centers use 5W-40W that will kill this engine. Turbos do not get oil fast enough with heavy oil thus, BMW gets to sell you another. The filter in center bottom, behind small panel with locking bolt assembly with new Brass Washer. Locking bolt is sideways to keep DIY people out so they can use the wrong oil. Showed Tech at Dealer, they said Sue Me. FYI Anyone DYI this new model?

In the opening scene you have a 5Q jug of 5w20 and 1Q of 5w30. Are you doing that on purpose?

I just bought a CPO 2017 X1. Now it looks like the oil filter below since the other video which were showing above which no way is mine up there. Now I couldn't quite understand this plastic deal at all? Also I read they used 0-20 from BMW more for MPG than engine life. I was told 5-30 was alright if like Mobil one and a Mann filter made for the X1. Now I see someone saying the turbo will fry if you don't use 0-20
