even at the mid range of the height adjustment the cutting blades are 1/4 inch off the dirt. If you want grass 3 inches tall you must mow with the deck raised all the way up.

I hear ya, great little tractor, always starts up and runs smooth. The mower deck mows, but the system that connects the two and raises/lowers the deck, it’s pure garbage.
