I really think Shadow High is one of the most creative doll line I've ever seen (after or equal to EAH). I just hope they give a ton of love to the concept, because it has a lot of potential. Imagine a 50s themed line with circus inspo like the movie "Nightmare Alley" by Guillermo del Toro. I can't wait.

I'm craving a Rainbow/Shadow High doll in Japanese lolita style clothes. OMG has some that's come pretty close, but there's still some work to be done! I feel they play it very safe with these lines, the clothes are very similar to one another... Which is ironic since it's all about individual style.

I really love the drama their giving us. I hope Shadow High has it's own separate series, but still follows Rainbiw High's timeline 'cause we still haven't seen a full episode of Pacific Coast yet. Plus, their theme song slaps!! I also love that they're a playline and not a collector's doll since grayscaled dolls as usually expensive.

As much as I love these dolls, I'm disappointed that they're not repping alt fashion at all. I was really looking forward to seeing some quality dolls that reflect the alt community, but these are basically rainbow high dolls in b&w. Which is fine, but there's more to alt fashion than wearing black and a choker. There are a ton of different styles in alt fashion, and I'd have loved to see the dolls represent that instead of the wearing the same mainstream brands just in greyscale.

This line seems SO COOL. The concept of Rainbow High having a Shadow High and Pacific Coast Schools were awesome. The fact both of them being arts schools is kinda cool. AND THEM ALL BEING BLACK AND WHITE IS AWESOME.

ngl, I love the quality of these dolls and absolutely adore the tidbits of world building they're giving us, but they are nowhere near alt lmao. I'm not trying to be gatekeepy but there's no way you could call greyscale supreme and gucci 'punk'. I still like the line and the aesthetic, I just wish they'd do a little more than just mainstream fashion, it's like calling metallica or queen 'underground'

I was so confused when I saw the name Shadow High. Mostly because Ever After High had a book where Monster highs Draculaura and Frankie goes to their dimension, and the title is Shadow High. Wiki: The Legend of Shadow High is the fifth book of the Ever After High book series, written by Shannon Hale and her husband Dean Hale. It was released on October 17, 2017. So I got really confused :P but they look so good!

I really like them, I’m copping Luna for sure (I’m weak for those space buns). But I do agree with other commenters that I would have liked to see some genuine alt fashion, instead of mainstream fashion but black and white. Still, they have a really neat concept and they’re def going to stand out on a shelf next to all the other dolls.

I am BEYOND excited for this series as they remind me of the black and white Frankie Stein Skull Shores first collector doll and I AM LIVING for the Black and White / Grayscale color scheme!

I missed actual salt in the franchise and I'm glad Shadow High seems to do it. It gives some nostalgic feelings of #Royal and #Rebel ❤️

Although I love the new silhouettes, like Shanelle's flamenco-esque dress and puff sleeves, a lot of the fashions are still inspired by mainstream brands. I would to see a cottagecore doll or fashions from around the world, like saris and yukatas for example (kinda like how Lily Cheng did a spin on the qipao)

I haven't been the biggest fan of Rainbow High, the faces always went way too uncanny valley for me, but the less human-like more, stylistic skin tones of the gray-scale dolls attracts me a lot more to them!

Might even get myself a Natasha when she comes out.

But why did the impersonator have a picture of the doll? And how did they know that Elvira got this exact doll? Doesn't this mean they also might be on the PR list since they had this doll?

EDIT: I just noticed that the leaked picture is of the exact doll Melissa from "My World" reviewed in her video? I compared the picture to the doll in her video when it was still in the box. The creases in the dress, the hair, the position of the feathers is all identical. Its literally a picture of her doll.
Why is this??? 🤔

I'm so glad someone's finally saying it. These 2 doll lines are meant for slightly different audiences. I've always found the Rainbow High dolls a bit clownish because of the colors. These have a more ethereal/ghostly vibe to them and I love it. Not every doll has to be super colorful.
