I love the recap ... looking through your journal after a while is so satisfying. Especially for me who reads a lot. I do not have the room for decorating a lot, so watching yours is so satisfying. 😍

Love your reading journal! You had inspired me to create one of my own. Though, I am more minimalist in my approach. Your ability to collage is enviable. For the social science…Jonathan Haidt is on my TBR. His book is called The Anxious Generation. Saw him interviewed and it sounds fascinating.

Heda: You are so talented! I love your artwork and I especially like the fact that you include women of all races and skin tones! Great job on your TBR and Recommendations pages.

It was a lot of fun watching you set up the new books read and tbr pages and seeing the old bookpages you used for decoration with Finnish text. 😄I enjoy seeing all the different languages you have accumulated book pages of in your reading journal setups.

I recommend Doppelganger by Naomi Klein for Social Science- it's a good Audiobook too! and Laziness Does Not Exist by Devon Price for self help that is not icky

You make such beautiful spreads!!! I love how you planned out each book you read. I also kept a reading journal but it was mostly for tracking my yearly goals since I only had a few pages left of a random bullet journal I had. But I'm setting up a new reading journal for 2025 and watching every suggested video on reading journals for inspo🫶

Love it, Hedda! My fav recent historical fiction is Pachinko, a generational story about a Korean family during the Korea/Japan war. Really good!

For horror-curious folks I recommend Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, but for more avid horror fans I recommend Come Closer by Sara Gran

Beautiful and inspiring journal! Thank you for sharing it. I love The Tao of Pooh, an hour to read and a lifetime to ponder.

For self-help, I would recommend 'Every Day A Good Day' by Noriko Morishita. It centres around the tea ceremony, so the self-help part is not so 'in your face'. There is also a movie about it that is a visual delight. In the thriller category an oldie 'The Wrong Man' by John Katzenbach 😉

If you haven't yet, you should definitely try the Inheritance Games series. It's really good!

For historical fiction ANYTHING by Fiona Davis. The settings of her books are new york city landmarks. My personal favorite was The Lions of 5th Ave or the Masterpiece which takes place at Grand Central Station.

The Maisie Dobbs series for mystery are my favorite. They’re set in WWI and work their way upward. There are 18, but start with one and see how you like it 😂 I love the character development in the series. I also really enjoy the series that starts with Arsenic and Adobo, which is a modern mystery series that is centered around restaurants and food. I really enjoy the cultural aspects of the series. The audiobooks for both are fab.

My husband's favorite author is Philip K. Dick and he read Man in the High Castle about 15 years ago and loved it so so so much. He speaks highly of so many of his books but I have yet to read any!!

Ska bli spännande att se vilka böcker du har läst i Juli. Jag började precis med Beyond the wand 😍 Och har läst/lyssnat många av böckerna som du läst också under året 😆 Ha en fin vecka ❣
